Biochemical / Physiological Actions
COG 1333 or apoE (133-149) is an apolipoprotein E (APOE) fragment that mimics the functional anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects of intact apoE protein. It was suggested that the neuroprotective functions of the mimetic result from binding to low-density lipoprotein receptor (LRP) -related protein or LDL receptors, and such binding results in inhibition of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor. (NMDA).
